I am exhibiting my recent series of coloured pencil drawings that navigate the borderlands between reality and imagination and explore a dream-like utopia anchored by the melancholy of nostalgia and the playfulness of childhood memory.

The body of work, a collection of surreal dreamscapes, introduces vividly coloured, ornate, inflatable structures contrasted against muted, vast landscapes. The depictions, taking inspiration from children's jumping castles and retro milk-bar marquees, serve as whimsical, if eerie, reminders of our fleeting childhood fantasies and dreams. I employed a quasi-hyperrealistic technique, with intricate detail-work reminiscent of vintage photographs or storybooks, combined with flat planes of colour to strike a balance between realism and the illustrative quality of children's literature.

My creative process integrates experiences from everyday life, memories from my childhood, and surreal visions inspired by the rapid ascendance of AI Art. The result is a series that blends our collective past with the uncertain future, forming a cohesive narrative of the human experience.
